Collaborations

Slovene Ethnographic Museum

I am proud to enjoy the trust and support of the Slovenian National Ethnographic Museum within which my studio is located and with whom we have ongoing collaborations.

One of these is the project Vacation 3M during which we provide creative workshops for children in July and August. The project is hosted by three museums and a cinema:

National Museum of Slovenia

In 2020 we were invited by the National Museum of Slovenia to organize a special pottery workshop within the international project CerDee. We selected a group of promising Slovenian ceramic artists which we then trained in traditional pottery throwing and firing their pottery with a special smoking technique.

Traditional Pottery with Štefan Zelko

We often invite Štefan Zelko to teach prospective students traditional pottery techniques. This is a rare opportunity to learn about a tradition which in my opinion does not enjoy the status it deserves in our culture. We are therefore thankful to Štefan for coming to the studio and sharing his unique knowledge and skills with us.

Traditional Ceramics Decoration with Slavica Cvetek

Slavica Cvetek is one of the last painters skilled in underglaze decoration that thrived in the town of Kamnik till the last factory named Eti Svit was unfortanately closed. We invite Slavica to teach her beautiful technique and collaborate with her in some creative projects.

Turizem Ljubljana (Ljubljana Tourism)

Since 2022, a flourishing ongoing collaboration with the prime tourist organization in Ljubljana. My studio was selected with the aim of elevating the offering of tourist activities in Ljubljana. Our contribution has been awarded by Tourism Ljubljana.

Hrepenilda

Artist-initiated and organized art colony in the village of Lokovec, Slovenia that inspired the local community to host our third event. The initiator and first host was artist Mihaela Ciuha. The name ‘Hrepenilda’ came to my mind during the first event. The word is closely connected to ‘hrepenenje’ which means yearning. This seemed to be a major emotion that all of us, the participating artists, shared while seeking pure artistic expression.

The Content of the Cup

An artistic collaboration between myself and Guillermo Escalante. I created handmade teacups using innovative techniques and Guillermo decorated them. We transformed the teacup from a mere object to a ritual vessel carrying spiritual content through the process of serving and drinking it. We presented the artwork as a spiritual offering to individuals and groups of people.

Artistic Quilts

A collaboration with various artists: Mihaela Ciuha, Alenka Koderman, Nives Palmić and others. Each artist created parts of the future quilts individually, these were then assembled into compositions. The aim of the work was to eradicate the artists ego and produce a beutiful group results.

Practice Makes Perfect

In collaboration with Urban Magušar, this is the largest clay relief in Slovenia. It represents the contribution of the children, youth and workers of the Center for Education, Rehabilitation and Training Kamnik, regardless of the degree of mobility impairment. For more information click here.

Slovenska izseljenska matica (Association of Immigrants)

Every year the Association of Immigrants in Slovenia invites me to gather a group of Slovene people that live abroad and teach them ceramic skills for a few days.
